Most impactful experience

“The most rewarding Kalpataru darshan for me was about two years back. At that time, I was obsessed with landing an internship at Google. I thought about it all the time and checked my email every minute for their reply. I couldn’t eat when the time came to give them an interview.

Between the interview and the results, I happened to be at a Kalpataru and I asked Swami to bless me with the internship. Swami said, “I have already given you what you want”. The next day, though, I got an email from Google politely turning me down. I was shattered for the next few weeks until I randomly decided to approach an advertising agency. I was surprised at the ease with which I could talk to them and before I knew it, I was working with them.

Apart from having the time of my life working here, it was during this time period that I took the decision to study further and branch out into what I was really interested in, marketing communications. Looking back now, I see what Swami meant when he said I would get what I actually wanted. While it was very satisfying career wise, this was the most impactful experience I had with Swami because it opened me up to the idea of knowing what I really want as opposed to what I think I want. It made me a lot more aware of my thoughts and desires and for that, I will always be thankful to Swami.”
